Xavier Mañosa is a Barcelona-based designer who, BDbarcelonasays is, “in this order a potter, artist and designer.” That apt description is exemplified in his exceptionally unique table, Table Fang, which was presented in Milan.
The Kurage Paper Light was a collaboration between Japanese designer Oki Sato, from the design studio, Kendo, and Italian designer Luca Nichetto. The lamp was designed with the idea of “paper ice cream” at its foundation, resulting in a very simple study in shape and form.
The dining table is a classic furniture piece – symbol of home, family and delicious meals. Meridiani’s Spencer Table is a modern take on this classic symbol, combining a solid and immutable presence with a sleek aesthetic.
Salone del Mobile is a showcase for the hottest designers and innovators in the market, but it’s also a place where new and emerging designers can highlight their talent and get a leg up in a highly competitive industry. One such example of this is the Salone Satellite Awards, which serve as a competition and showcase for young designers.

The mere title of Sancal’s latest products, The Majestic Collection, is enough to capture interest. Fortunately, Casa Design is confident it won’t disappoint. There are tons of choices when it comes to picking out your indoor lighting fixtures – choices that you should carefully consider as they greatly impact your interior design. But what about your outdoor area? You can use certain lights outside as well, such as FLOS’s Ipnos outdoor lamp.

The Extrusions collection, designed for Barcelona design (B.d.) by Konstantin Grcic, combines artistic vision with mechanical function. Table B, was inspired by some of B.d.’s iconic pieces, like the Hypóstila shelf unit that has been in production since 1979. The Extrusions Collection combines the simplicity and technical genius for which Konstantin Grcicis known.
The 2015 Salone del Mobile is right around the corner (April 14 – 19) and it’s a favorite for those of us who work here at Casa Design. This annual exhibition is notable because it’s the place where many of the top outdoor and indoor furniture designers launch their new lines. As a result, we always return with a host of new products and furnishings to showcase.
MAMAGREENis a relatively new presence in the outdoor furnishings sector. Specializing in contract furniture for both residential and hospitality use, the company got their start in 2007 and is committed to using environmentally friendly and socially responsible design, build and fabrication practices in order to leave the least amount of impact on Mother Earth, the inspiration for their company name.
The iF Design Awards are one of the most longstanding and prestigious awards in the design industry. The iFs got their start in Germany in the early 1950s. They aim to recognize excellence and outstanding design achievement in a diverse span of categories, ranging from the automotive industry to interior furnishings.
Maison & Objetis one of the industry’s most notable interior design trade shows. This year’s shows are hosted in Paris, Asia and the Americas. The Paris show, which took place in January, was a grand success; one of the highlights was FontanaArte’s exhibition Lights to Live.
Italian contemporary furniture designer Molteni & C recently celebrated 80 years in the business. This is no easy feat. To celebrate, the company hosted the exhibit 80! Molteni, exhibiting eight decades of high-quality furniture design. You can visit the exhibition in person, featuring iconic Molteni & C pieces throughout the decades, at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in the Villa Reale in via Palestro.
Nanimarquina’s renowned carpet designs have graced our Casa Design blog several times in the past years, most recently in January when we featured their Rabari Collection. This time, we’re featuring two rugs, born of a remarkable collaboration between Nanimarquina and Neri & Hu.
Italian-based Varaschinteamed up with French designer, Christophe Pillet, to create Summer Set – a light, comfortable and linear outdoor furniture collection suited for both residential and commercial applications.
