Each year, Wallpaper* Magazine announces award winners for categories ranging from architecture to furniture design. One of their award winning designs from 2011, the BOB armchair designed by Hella Jongerius for Kettal, continues to be a favorite among contemporary interior design aficionados.
The BOB armchairis a modern interpretation of the classic garden club chair design with the added benefit of more modern proportions and materials. The aluminum frame is developed to look dark in both color and dimension from the front but remains light and elegant from the back. The seat itself is comprised of soft and voluminous ribs adorned with detailed stitching made from winded yarn. BOB can be purchased as a set with a matching foot stool and complementary side table.
BOB’s designer, Hella Jongerius, is famous for her knack of creating art and craftsmanship that yield stunning contemporary furniture designs.
