It seems like wherever one looks in the world of modern lighting design, the word Flosis somewhere in the fine print. Casa Design has the honor of representing Flos fixtures in our showroom and now there is a new wall lamp in the collection.
The Orotund wall lamp was designed for Flos by Marc Newson. The rounded shape, combined with colored polymer options, is exemplary of the Australian designer’s tastes. Newson says, ““I have been experimenting with this shape – a circular shape with a central spoke – for the past 20 years or more. I find it captivating. There is something otherworldly about it. Orotund glows like an aura on the wall.” In fact, the same shape has been adopted by designs by Alessi.
Orotund is a futuristic lamp, ideal for modern lighting designs, and is available in white, olive green, and gray. The embedded LED lights do, indeed, cast a warm, otherworldly glow, and are highly energy efficient to boot. They would work for bedside lights as well as along hallways and enclosed walking paths.
