You may recall we paid homage to the Marina Table, by Extremis, back in September. The table was a celebration of the Marina’s 18 successful years on the design industry market. Apparently, those of us here at Casa Design weren’t the only ones to take note. The Marina was honored with a Special Mention by the German Design Awards for 2014.
The German Design Awards are presented by the German Design Council to recognize top designers and artists for their innovative works. They honor those designs that attractively integrate the worlds of technology and design, in a way that answers the need of the client. In addition to providing physical recognition, the Council also views the awards as a means to, “…provide them [designers] with a valuable marketing tool, which allows them to position their products on the market much more effectively.”
The Marina Table is a modern take on the classic picnic table. It is made from pultrusion glass fiber profiles, which yields clean and graceful lines that have the solid look and feel of a traditional picnic table.
