For those of you who are a bit rusty on your Greek history, Sappho was one of the most admired lyric poets of antiquity. So, it’s no wonder that Porada’s sleek writing desk is named Saffo. This piece of modern Italian furniture is sleek and modern, but has beautiful soft edges and curves. It’s ideal for those who celebrate a minimal lifestyle or who live in a smaller space.
The desk is constructed using solid canaletta walnut with a birch plywood interior. Saffo is available in a wide range of finishes, from white to black, and also includes a wood finish option as well. The central leather pad is available in three colors. There is a drawer which can be used to minimize desktop clutter, and the design is conscientious enough to include retractable hidden cable management.
Saffo was designed by artist Carlo Ballabio. He has designed numerous modern Italian furniture pieces for Porada, including desks, coffee tables and cupboards. Some of his most striking designs, like the Jean dining room table, involve the play of metal or wood with glass.
