The award-winning Canadian founders of Yabu Pushelberg design “places and products” in “a multidisciplinary practice that addresses multiple layers of the human experience.”
Since their first collaborations in 1980, George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg have been named Officers of the Order of Canada, inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame, and been listed in the world’s most influential design studios. Today, with offices in New York and Toronto and a team of more than 100, they design everything from buildings, interiors, and landscapes, to lighting, furniture, decorative objects, and graphics.
Style-setting hotel and resort brands, developers, retailers, restaurateurs, and entrepreneurs around the world are all fans of Yabu Pushelberg’s unique and innovative visions. Here are a few of their most popular looks that we offer at Casa Design Group.
Designed for Henge, the Mushroom side table takes center stage when it comes to distinctive style. The two levels add visual interest as well as practical use. Available in two sizes, Mushroom is an eye-catching accent as a side table or entry table. In bold brass or bronze finish.
Created for Molteni&C, the Surf modular sofa system draws on Yabu and Pushelberg’s long experience exploring the nature of organic forms. With its rounded shapes and snug, slightly protruding backrests, Surf is as ergonomically perfect as it is visually stunning. The sofa includes an elegant little “dumb waiter” table, with a marble base and wooden top, complete with a small handle for easy accessibility. Surf is available in a wide range of textiles and leathers from the Molteni&C collection.
Designed for Stellar Works, Blink’s light yet sculptural, strong modernist good looks blend beautifully into any interior. Playful and elegant, with contrasting textures and surfaces, Blink is a compact masterpiece that packs big style. Featuring a powder-coated steel frame, brass plated stainless steel, and upholstered frame.
Designed by Yabu Pushelberg for the famous lighting makers, Lasvit, the Cipher collection is a marriage of modern forms and heritage techniques, with delicate, hand-blown crystal cylindrical pieces joined by polished, champagne-gold finished connections. Light emits only from connection points, with the sources ingeniously hidden to soften the overall effect, creating a “poetic visual rhythm.”
