Her style has been called “unconventional, emphatic, and elegant.” It’s also wildly popular. Internationally renowned architect and designer Patricia Urquiola has received multiple major acknowledgments, including “Designer of the Decade” from Home and Häuser magazines and “Designer of the Year” from Wallpaper, Ad Spain, and Elle Decor International. While many of her projects are exhibited in museums and collections around the world, her style is breezy and accessible enough to be right at home in any refined residence. We think these are 10 of her best.

Asterias Table for Molteni&C

Asterias, a cactus that grows in the mountainous regions of Mexico, lends its name to this generously-sized round table, featuring a central base reminiscent of the succulent’s curved shape. The top, available in two sizes, consists of four wedges whose contrasting grains give rise to a captivating geometric pattern. The table can also be fitted with a matching central Lazy Susan turntable.

Scriba Office Table for Molteni&C

With its clean lines and decoratively perforated top support element, Scriba is a desk that conveys a sense of lightness. Wood surfaces, a practical lateral drawer, a clever book support element in painted sheet metal, and a side pocket in hiding leather complete the desk, with book-end support that leans on the top and can be positioned in any direction.

Maia Collection for Kettal

The Kettal Maia collection has a natural lightness and elegance, at home in any setting. The sturdiness of the aluminum frame contrasts with the delicate design of the artisan braiding, while the new Porotex and chenille fabric collection create a combination that adds energy and color.

Mesh Collection for Kettal

Like architectural facades, which filter the surrounding environment without stopping the light and flow of air, the Mesh collection is meant to add to, but not overwhelm, its surroundings. Industrial and natural materials, hard and soft surfaces, transparent and solid volumes blend to create a family of outdoor furniture based on the beauty of contrasts.

Tatou Lighting Collection for Flos

Its name is French for “armadillo,” the unassuming animal whose brilliant structure keeps it protected—and makes it unique. Designer Patricia Urquiola conceptualized this innovative lamp to play on the filtration of light, with remarkable results. Available in table, pendant, and floor lamp styles in white, black, or bronze.

Pear C Bathroom Sink for Agape

The freestanding Pear washbasin dominates with its elegant and generous proportions and clean, monolithic lines. Made in white Cristalplant biobased or in white Carrara marble, grey Carnic marble, black Marquina marble, green Alpi marble, or dark Emperador marble.

Rigo Bathroom System for Agape

With its parallel beams running along the wall, Rigo offers a modern-day synthesis of the conventional bathroom environment. With their minimal design, the beams transform into an opportunity to arrange the washbasin, accessories, trays, and tops to satisfy every functional and aesthetic requirement. Available in black anodized, matte white, or light grey aluminum.

Caboche Lighting Collection for Foscarini

Designed in collaboration with “industrial designer, curator of outfits, and interior decorator” Eliana Gerotto, the Caboche lamps transform light into a sparkling composition of transparent spheres, with technology and creativity blending to create a true design gem. Available in table, wall, floor, and ceiling styles, in transparent and gold, Caboche adds a touch of sparkling charm to any setting.

Pavo Chairs for Driade

Inspired by the generous rattan and cane armchairs of the tropics, Pavo adds the strength of modern steel, doubling the braids and adding new patterns that gracefully reproduce the warm tactility of natural materials.

Rotazioni Rug Collection for CC-Tapis

Made by hand in Nepal of Himalayan wool, these colorful, whimsical rugs add a bold dash of modernity to any interior, whether on the floor or as a wall covering — or both!
