Attention designers! Italian furniture company Porada has recently announced its “Porada Furniture Design Award 2012,” an international design ideas competition through which Porada is looking to find innovative design concepts for a living area in which wood is a prevalent design element and a collection is presented that embodies “the values and the identity of Porada production.”
In addition to the prevalence of wood in the living area design, designs submitted for the Porada Furniture Design Award 2012 should include the following:
- Original, unpublished ideas.
- Designs must “enhance the use of production technologies and processes typical of solid wood.”
- They must be functional.
- Exhibit compliance with current safety standards.
- Feature ergonomic characteristics, as well as environmental and sustainable design characteristics.
Entries will be judged by a panel of international design experts, including Arturo Dell’Acqua Bellavitis, Dean of School of Design, Politecnico di Milan; Luisa Bocchiettto, President of ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale; Michelle Ogundehin, Director of Elle Décor UK; and others.
