Armchair Dowel is one of the newest TON products on the market, boasting a modern European design paired with plenty of padded comfort. It is available in both oak and beech, both of which can be stained or painted in one of 12 different color options. To complement Armchair Dowel’s sleek and contemporary framework, designers added a generous layer of padded upholstery that is offered in 34 different colors, making it easy to blend with any existing color palette.
It also boasts TON’s signature wood bending techniques in it’s graceful framework. This wood bending technique has been an integral part of TON furniture design since the company got its start in Bystrice pod Hostýnem, Czechoslovakia back in 1861. You can see this fascinating process in action by visiting their How Ton Makes It webpage.
Armchair Dowel was designed for TON by Barcelona-based Lime Studio partners Panos Vasiliou and Oscar Tange. Their design creed is to watch, observe and examine, and the results of this process have landed their furnishings and designs in some of the most prestigious exhibits in London, Tokyo and Milan. Dowel is the first design they have contracted for TON and is available through Casa Contract.
