The IF Design Awards are one of the most longstanding and prestigious awards in the design industry. The iFs got their start in Germany in the early 1950s. They aim to recognize excellence and outstanding design achievement in a diverse span of categories, ranging from the automotive industry to interior furnishings.
Congratulations, TON, on Your iF Design Award 2015
This year, the iF Awards panel presented their Home Furniture category award to TON’s Merano series. The Merano chair and bar stool were designed by Alex Gufler. This latest honor will be added to the list of previous awards and accolades the Merano series has garnered, including the Red Dot Design Award, a nomination from the German Design Award committee and the Good Design Award.
The Merano blends the classic design of a wood chair with the traditional bent wood frames that have become TON’s signature. Merano does not contain a single screw or any metal pieces whatsoever and is incredibly lightweight. The chair and stool frames are available in 12 different wood finishes and have 34 different upholstery options, making them a versatile seating option for residential and commercial applications.
