Casa Design Living is thrilled to be featured in Boston Magazine for our kitchen design collaboration with Design Studio M. The challenge in this particular home design project was creating the feeling of spaciousness and ample storage within the confines of a narrow condominium kitchen. Here is how we did it:
Cabinetry. Using all white cabinetry would have been a little too stark, so we combined Arclinea‘s American walnut cabinets with their white, high-gloss lacquer cabinets. While still retained clean, modern lines, but the effect provides visual and textural contrast. The white helps to open the room up.
Island. The white stone island, custom-made by TBR Marble & Granite, is made of Pental quartz with a polished lattice finish; as are the countertops. In addition to being a stunning centerpiece for the room, it provides additional counter space for prepping or dining.
Appliances. Miele appliances are featured in the kitchen, including the built-in espresso/coffee machine, speed oven and induction cooktop. The stunning Arclinea wine cooler draws you into the kitchen with its Stopsol glass coplanar doors and LED edge lighting.
Ceiling and backsplash. Two of many striking features is the whimsical cloud mosaic backsplash by Bisazza and the Ice Lady chandelier by Brand vanEgmond. Both creative additions help to create an open, airy feel to the otherwise closed kitchen.
