Molteni&C and Boston have a strong history centered on design and craftsmanship. The boutique was reopened in a new space in July at 450 Harrison Avenue. In addition, this location debuts Dada kitchens, another brand in the Molteni Group, for the first time in Boston.
The 1,000 square-foot store features both new and iconic designs, exemplifying key brand attributes such as inspiration, and contemporaneity. “Every new North American store is designed to evoke the experience of being in a home,” says North American CEO Jan Vingerhoets. “Throughout four sections of the store – living, home office, walk-in closet, and kitchen/dining – the Molteni&C|Dada collections exist in fluid harmony to create the complete quality living experience.”
Capturing local interior design trends, the boutique highlights personalized closet solutions, interestingly shaped coffee tables, nesting tables, and sectionals with textured fabrics. The entire Dada kitchens line is available through the store. And the particular design featured at the Boston boutique is Hi-Line 6 by Ferruccio Laviani, with meropesile stone countertops and dark elm wall units. A section of the showroom is dedicated to Molteni&C’s wardrobes and walk-in closets, highlighting the Gliss Master series designed by Vincent Van Duysen, who also serves as the brand’s Creative Director. In the living section are the Paul sofa and Jan coffee table by Van Duysen, as well as selections from the Molteni&C Heritage Collection. These includes reissues of Gio Ponti’s D.154.2 armchair in red velvet and the Miss Chair by Afra and Tobia Scarpa. Architectural pieces, for which the brand is well known, like the Arc dining and Vicino coffee tables designed by Foster & Partners, are featured throughout the space as well.
The boutique is set to make a lasting impact in the local market. “New high-end apartment and condominium projects are being developed all over Boston, and our showroom fulfills current buyers’ need for sophisticated and unique contemporary furnishings,” says owner Zhanna Drogobetsky. “The sleek design, exceptional quality, vast customization abilities, and Italian craftsmanship all make Molteni&C | Dada the natural choice in these homes.” Located in the vibrant SoWa (South of Washington) Art + Design District of Boston, the Molteni&C | Dada boutique is a welcome addition to the community of artist studios, contemporary galleries, one-of-a-kind boutiques, design showrooms, and restaurants unified by a passion for creating and curating experiences. Developed to support and preserve Boston’s talented artists and entrepreneurs, SoWa connects local visitors with a dynamic group of makers and thinkers like Molteni&C | Dada.
