For your hospitality, workplace, lobby, and residential amenities projects, Casa Design Group offers a range of furniture collections that meet the fire retardant standards required by the California Technical Bulletin 117-2013. This regulation has become a standard in the furniture industry nationwide and been adopted by the city of Boston to minimize the risk and spreading of fire. CAL 117-2013 regulates the flammability of components used in upholstered furniture. Therefore, under this code—also referred to as CAL 117 or TB 117—all cover fabrics, barrier materials and resilient filling materials must pass smolder ignition tests individually. Many of the brands we offer can supply compliant upholstered furniture standard, or upon request—while others offer a CAL117-2013 compliant inner liner to bring the piece to code. In lieu of specifying COM or COL, consider our manufacturers' graded-in compliant fabrics and leathers. Search our website using this filter and be sure to let us know that your project requires CAL when you enquire!
