Gibbous Mirror

The Gibbous Mirror by Cassina, designed by Michael Anastassiades, is a minimalist and highly imaginative piece that merges fine craftsmanship with advanced technology. Inspired by the gibbous phase of the moon, its softly curved, asymmetrical form brings a poetic presence into any interior.
Created by heating a sheet of glass until it naturally bends under its own weight, the mirror forms a subtle fold that doubles as a small functional shelf. This artisanal process results in a unique sculptural effect, enhanced by the mirror’s reduced thickness and refined finish.
The optional LED backlighting adds depth and atmosphere, creating an interplay of light and shadow while enhancing usability. Designed to be mounted in various ways, including across corners or above furniture, Gibbous appears to melt into its surroundings, evoking the image of the sun setting on the horizon.
