Italian-based Varaschin teamed up with French designer, Christophe Pillet, to create Summer Set – a light, comfortable and linear outdoor furniture collection suited for both residential and commercial applications.
Summer Set by Christophe Pillet for Varaschin
Varaschin embodies an “in-out” philosophy, striving to design furniture and furnishings that can be used comfortably and stylishly both inside and out. The Summer Set is exemplary of this, featuring single shell seating with a woven design, which keeps the chairs light and in touch with Varaschin’s wicker furniture roots.
The company got its start back in the late 1960’s when Ugo Varaschin used old-world techniques to create wicker and rattan furniture with a modern touch. Today, the company has branched out but still places an emphasis on woven, or weave-inspired furnishings.
The Summer Set consists of both high bar stools as well as low lounge chairs, each of which is made from powder coated, stainless steel frames. Pieces are available with five different finishes, four of which are suited for marine environments. The only difference between indoor and outdoor models is that indoor seats are available with a more plush and comfortable cushion.
Summer Set and other Varaschin furnishings are available through Casa Outdoor Boston.
