The months after Salone del Mobile 2014 are always exciting as we get to put the newest furnishings, fixtures, and technology to work in our clients’ homes and businesses. Our favorite Foscarini products included floor, wall, and suspension lamps.

We’d love to say we don’t play favorites, but we’re only human. If you missed out on the Milan Fair 2014, we want to make sure you catch up on some of Casa Design’s favorite designs.

For those of you who are a bit rusty on your Greek history, Sappho was one of the most admired lyric poets of antiquity. So, it’s no wonder that Porada’s sleek writing desk is named Saffo. This piece of modern Italian furniture is sleek and modern, but has beautiful soft edges and curves. It’s ideal for those who celebrate a minimal lifestyle or who live in a smaller space.

You may recall we paid homage to the Marina Table, by Extremis, back in September. The table was a celebration of the Marina’s 18 successful years on the design industry market. Apparently, those of us here at Casa Design weren’t the only ones to take note. The Marina was honored with a Special Mention by the German Design Awards for 2014.

If you’re a regular Casa Design subscriber, you know we appreciate the work of Andreu World America. We’ve featured their designs a number of times, most recently celebrating their Flex Chair, Tao Table, and Siesta outdoor furniture. Now, we want to share their newest modern furniture design, the Agora Collection.

It seems like wherever one looks in the world of modern lighting design, the word Flosis somewhere in the fine print. Casa Design has the honor of representing Flos fixtures in our showroom and now there is a new wall lamp in the collection.

Andreu World America has been a global leader in designer furniture since 1955. They got their start in Spain, and have since developed a world-wide presence throughout Europe, eastern countries, Australia and the U.S. The company is known for a combination of innovative designs, paired with high-tech manufacturing and production techniques.

Casa Design would like to congratulate contemporary furnishings designer, Extremis, on their 2013 AZ Awards for Best Furniture Design. Extremis is a Belgian firm, and we have had the pleasure of representing them in our showroom, most recently in our new Casa Outdoor showroom.

One of the most trying things about attending trade shows is waiting for irresistible products to become available on the market. AIM is a new lamp designed by French lighting designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Flos. It has been well worth the wait.

At the Casa Outdoor showroom, we want to make sure our clients have access to the latest products. Here are some of the modern outdoor furniture pieces we’ve added in time for summer projects.

Now that summer is almost here, we decided it was time for Casa Design to open up our own outdoor patio for clients and guests. The team here at Casa Design is excited to open Casa Outdoor in July. Casa Outdoor will be located directly across the street from our current showroom at 450 Harrison Ave.

One of our favorite outdoor furniture lines is celebrating its 18th birthday soon and will be marking the occasion in a big way. Extremis is celebrating by creating a new version of the Marina table and will be revealing the new version of this picnic table at the Biennale INTERIEIUR 2012 in Belgium in October.

Today we wanted to share with you about our latest Arclinea kitchen install. This project was a collaboration between Bunker Workshop, an interior architecture firm based out of Charlestown, and Casa Design’s Arclinea Project Manager, Shelley Cates.

Attention designers! Italian furniture company Porada has recently announced its “Porada Furniture Design Award 2012,” an international design ideas competition through which Porada is looking to find innovative design concepts for a living area in which wood is a prevalent design element and a collection is presented that embodies “the values and the identity of Porada production.”

When you hear the term “beehive,” what comes to mind? A hairstyle from decades ago, or perhaps honey bees? Most likely, a lighting fixture doesn’t cross your mind, but one of the newer Foscarini lamps is changing what we see when we think of a beehive.

Today we would like to share with you a project that we had the privilege of working on here in Boston – Alden Castle. The space, located in the legendary Longwood Towers, was originally known as the Veronique Ballroom. In keeping with the space’s history, Alden Castle will continue to be a premiere event venue in Boston.

We have professed our love for Foscarini light fixtures many times here on our blog, and we must say that we absolutely love one of the newer and more unique designs Foscarini has created – the Anisha Lamp.

If you’ve been reading our blog for a good length of time, then you know how much we love the beautiful and innovative lighting fixtures from Foscarini, so we naturally take note of who’s in love with these fabulous pieces.

Take a look at this gorgeous home located in Old Jaffa, Tel Aviv. Dezeen magazine featured this unique space on its website earlier this week and we simply adore it. The flat, which was designed by Pitsou Kedem, features stunning architecture and absolutely breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.

We love seeing new, innovative takes on the familiar.

That would include this picnic table from Extremis. With the Hopper Table, designer Dirk Wynants literally twisted the bench and table configuration inta a fully functional design that also turns out to be very sturdy and very eye catching.
